I’m officially four weeks post-foot surgery, and this week reminded me I’m still in recovery—even if I feel like I should be doing more. My arch has been really sore, and I think I pushed it too far. Just because I can walk more around the house doesn’t mean I’m ready to take on everything at once. I’m learning to slow down and listen to my body.
That said, I still made some progress I’m happy about. Over the weekend, I started organizing the office/spare room. I went through all the books, boxed up the ones I’m ready to donate, and got them into the trunk of the car. I also put together a new bookshelf—it took me all of Sunday and Monday, but it’s up and looking great. The room is already feeling more put together. Check out the pictures below!
This room will be the last one I repaint, but I gave it a little seasonal update by swapping the winter bedding for the soft pink set. It’s a simple change, but it made a big difference in how the space feels.
I also started painting the breakfast nook on Wednesday. I’ve been working at it slowly with a step stool—it’s not fast, but I’m getting there. My plan is to finish most of the walls Friday and tackle the ceiling on Monday. I’ll share photos once it’s done.
In my downtime, I’ve been keeping my brain busy—writing reviews, reading, and learning more about Instagram, Canva, and the website I’m building. I’m especially trying to figure out how to create IG carousels. I’ve got one put together, but I’m still working out the next steps. That’s my weekend project, and I’ll let you know how it turns out.
For now, it’s time to rest, prop my foot up, and enjoy a glass of Pinot Grigio. Progress might be slow, but it’s still progress.
